In his autobiography Michael Külken wrote about his adventures, including encounters with pirates, storms,-barter in Africa, sailing with emigrants to America and many interesting and amusing events of more than 50 voyages. The living conditions of a seaman in the 19th century are detailed with humor.
The book is entitled Und löschten unsere Passagiere - And We Unloaded Our Passengers.
The author´s great-great-grandson Michael Külken has published the autobiography with "Verlag
H. M. Hauschild" in Bremen.
Unfortionatly the book is antiquarian available only.
